We got to do another feel good thing this year and participated in the “Tons of Turkeys” food drive this past Saturday. A local radio station, 96.5 The Mill, Hannaford’s Supermarkets, and the New Horizon Food Pantry come together every year for this food drive.
This year we had to get two carts, one for each kid, because they both wanted to ride in the “big” basket!
The kids had a blast trying to load the frozen turkeys into the carts and then unloading them with the Food Pantry volunteers as they recorded each turkey onto their log and loaded up their donation cart.
I am not sure the kids fully understand it at their young age, but it feels good to have the whole family together doing something to help out other local families in our area.
