Well the 2nd week of syruping was not as good as I thought. Come to find out I am probably a little early on the season. I had a couple good days last week which prompted me to add some more taps. I am now up to 10 total but I got virtually no sap this weekend. Mother nature defied the 10-day forecast and gave me consistent 30-35 degree days which put the kibosh on my syruping.
Monday looks good however with lows in the 20’s and highs in the 40’s I am hoping for my taps to be flowing.
So as I am waiting for the pats game I figured I would boil the 1-2 gallons of sap I have in my new sauce pot the wife bought me. Currently I am boiling for 2-1/2 hrs to get to the sauce pot. Indoor temp is up 2 degrees and RH is up 22%. Living dangerously boiling inside, but I am thinking its good practice for finishing my later boils.
