Conception…

While “trying” to watch This Old House, because with two little kids you never really get to watch anything, I caught a glimpse of a built-in wood locker system in a mud room of a house the host was visiting.  It dawned on me that this is exactly what we needed to help the horror show of outdoor clothing and gear we have in our kitchen/mud-room type area.  Cue the spiral bound notebook and bic pen and we were in business.  Now this is far from the yellow trace I was taught to use in school, but this was spur of the moment, on the fly, design copying here.

Naturally, in my mind this was going to be the perfect solution – provided the boss agreed with the concept, the size, details, and finishes could be worked out.

Fortunately for me, there is nothing Wen hates worse than an unorganized, disaster of coats, shoes, winter hats, gloves, and the like, so the concept was easily approved.  Now to transform the idea into something that will work for our space, which involves more sketching, planning, and of course cost estimating and perhaps some value engineering.

This should make a nice Vacation Project.
